You could argue that the name Alan Titchmarsh is synonymous with being British. Britain's favourite gardener, Alan has gone out of his way on The Alan Titchmarsh Show to champion our local heroes, whether they be food producers, local shopkeepers, hoteliers, restaurateurs or suchlike.

Here at AT.com we thought we would join in, and have a new feature planned to highlight the very best our wonderful nation has to offer.
